Mickey's Not So Scary Haloween Party – Walt Disney World

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00May 9th, 2012|Disney Travel Tips, Haley|

My favorite season is Autumn. I love watching the leaves change colors, the cool crisp evening air, trips to the pumpkin patch, hay rides, and of course Halloween. I also love visiting The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. One of the best parts of vacationing there that time of year is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. On select nights, the Magic Kingdom closes early to regular guests and is transformed into a hauntingly festive celebration. You must purchase a separate ticket for these special Halloween activities which will last from 7:00 p.m.- Midnight. The dates for this event are: September 11, 14,18, 21, 25, 28, 30, October 4, 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28 and November 2. Guests of ALL ages are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes. There is trick-or-treating around the park. A special parade called The Boo To You Parade is held twice nightly. Be sure to be on the lookout for "dancing ghosts" from the Haunted Mansion and the Headless Horseman who might be out for an evening ride! The characters are decked out in their costumes as well, providing for some unique character photo opportunities. Also, make sure you stop [...]

Dining Options at Walt Disney World by Agent Haley!

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00April 27th, 2012|Disney Travel Tips, Haley|

Ask 10 different people what their favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World is and you'll probably get 10 different answers. Eating around the "World" is almost as popular as the parks themselves. With over 100 choices how could it not be? Disney World offers options to satisfy any palate. There is such a variety it can be difficult to choose! I thought I'd take a minute and explain a little bit about each option. Signature Dining: Signature dining restaurants are a little more upscale and usually a little pricier. Some of them have a more eclectic menu while others just offer fabulous renditions of timeless favorites. For example, The California Grill located atop The Contemporary Resort is great choice especially if you're looking for something unique to do without the kids. Dinner Shows: Disney offers 3 unique dinner show options. The Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is home to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. The idea here is that you are at an outdoor barbecue with Mickey & his pals. There's dancing, singing, games, etc. Also at Fort Wilderness is The Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue which is a vaudeville style show served with down home country cooking. Trust me, you will have FUN!!! A Little Bird Told Me

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00April 23rd, 2012|Disney Travel Tips, Haley|

Earlier this week Disney announced the return of The Orange Bird.  The Orange Bird was a character that was created specifically for the Magic Kingdom Park in the 1970's.  The bird greeted guests at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland where they often enjoyed a Citrus Swirl, a delicious "retro" treat that has recently made it's comeback as well.  In 1971 the famous flier had it's very own record that featured the song, appropriately titled,  "The Orange Bird Song".   With it's return, The Orange Bird is showing up with some great new merchandise including cups, T-shirts, and a vinylmation.  An original statue from the 70's is also on display!   For those of you (okay us) old enough to remember The Orange Bird it's a great opportunity to share a blast from the past with your own children and grandchildren.  I'd say that's definitely something to "tweet" about!   http://youtu.be/3ld8DQkC6po     Haley has been a Disney Travel Specialist with Wishing Well Travel since 2012, you can contact her at Haley at wishingwelltravel.com, find her on facebook or Request a Quote from her online.

Toy Story Midway Mania

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00April 16th, 2012|Disney Travel Tips|

Don your 3-D glasses and enter into the crazy world of Toy story in which all of Andy’s Toys are having way to much fun playing with Andy’s new birthday present: Carnival Games. Toy Story Midway Mania! is an interactive 4-D theme park attraction, currently located at two Disney theme parks: Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and inspired by Disney·Pixar's Toy Story franchise, the attraction was first unveiled during a press conference at Walt Disney World in January 2007. The Florida version opened officially on May 31, 2008, while the California version officially opened on June 17, 2008. With over 7 different carnival games, each unique (and with their own Easter Eggs) this game is one that everyone in your family will want to play over and over again. With a unique scoring system this ride is not only a fun experience, but a friendly competition as well. This ride is family friendly, allowing for lap seating, with no minimum height requirement. Making this a can’t miss attraction, but be prepared for a long wait as this ride is popular [...]

A Look at The Mad T Party

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00April 4th, 2012|Disney Travel Tips|

On June 15th 2012 a changing of the guards of sorts will take place in Disney’s California Adventure as ElecTRONica is replaced by The Mad T Party. ElecTRONica is a teen-young adult dance party themed after Disney film franchise ‘Tron’. Tron has had a good run, and is a genuinely fun weel themed show. But what it is being replaced by has some people scratching their heads. When the rumor of an Alice themed show to replace ElecTRONica the internet world was a buzz with activity. With Tim Burtons Wildly popular adaptation still raking in the money it was sure to be themed after that, but with the images released by Disney this week seems to be something more out of a 90’s rave, rather than a night time dance and light show. According to the folks at the Disney Parks Blog the Mad T Party will feature a live band, themed in psycadelic ‘Alice’ themed garb. The Mad Hatter will host while his tea party comrades make up the body of the band. The Dormouse, Cheshire Cat, and even the White Rabbit as a D.J. The guards of this party are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, they themselves have [...]

What Makes Disney Special to Me

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00April 3rd, 2012|Disney Travel Tips, Haley|

When I tell a friend or family member that we're taking a Disney vacation, I'm usually met with a "you're going AGAIN?" response.  For years I felt weird telling people we were "going again" because they always looked at me like I was crazy.  Now that I'm older and wiser (well older anyway) I've come to the conclusion that it's just what my family enjoys doing and maybe they don't know what they're missing ;) I think back over all the trips we've taken and each one holds such a special memory and place in my heart.  My husband and I honeymooned there in 1997 when the castle was decorated like a big old pink cupcake.  He can still sing you the theme song of the parade that year.  The first time we took my son he could have cared less about anything (although he danced & clapped his little heart out at The Country Bear Jamboree).  Now 9 years later he loves everything especially if it's fast and makes me want to vomit.  I think about my daughter and how on her first trip she wanted to grab all the noses of the characters, even the Princesses.  Or how [...]

Spring Has Sprung!

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00March 28th, 2012|Disney Travel Tips|

I have a love for those cute little character statues that sit around the partners statue at the Hub of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. That combined with my husband obsession fondness for chip and dale mean that I have a lot of pictures like this on my computer. This one is probably my favorite, the colors behind are so beautiful - they just make me giddy for spring!     Rebecca is the founder of Wishing Well Travel, and is obsessed with all things Disney. Beware the fast pass return time!

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00March 10th, 2012|Disney Travel Tips, Haley|

Being the strict rule follower that I am, I've always done my best to return to the ride I have a Fastpass for within the allotted time frame.  For those of you who "live on the edge" and use them even after your time has expired be forewarned that Disney is now strictly enforcing the return time window!    The Fastpass system debuted in 1999 as a way to cut down on guest wait times in ride lines.   Guests can receive a Fastpass by placing their park ticket into a Fastpass machine which then distributes a slip with an hour long window at which they can return and bypass the regular line.  Although the one-hour rule has been in place since the beginning, many guests would return after the window of time had passed.  As an extra measure of warning Disney has now placed signs above the machines informing guests to return within the one-hour window printed on their ticket.  In addition, tickets now state that they are "not able to accommodate late arrivals." So just remember when you get your Fastpasses you need to factor your plans accordingly to make sure you return within your specified time frame.  This is a great way to [...]

The Top Ten Tips For Toddlers on a Disney Vacation – Part Four

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00December 3rd, 2011|Disney Travel Tips|

We have finally arrived at the last three tips for taking a Disney Vacation with toddlers and younger children. We hope you have gotten some great tips on how to have a fit free vacation and that they will help you in your upcoming magical vacation! Don't forget to take a look at part one, part two, and part three if you missed them. Lets begin where we left off - 8. Know your child’s ride limitations – Walt Disney’s vision for these parks began with a desire to make a place where parents and their children can enjoy an experience together. And I do believe he accomplished that wonderfully!! In fact there are more rides that kids of all ages can go on then there are rides that have height limitations. That being said don’t drag your toddler who is terrified of the dark on Mr. Toads Wild Ride, or your 5 year old on Tower of Terror. Just because kids can go on rides doesn’t mean that they should. Now, what if your kids have never been on any sort of ride before? Well, your best bet is to prepare them as much as you can for each [...]

The Top Ten Tips For Toddlers on a Disney Vacation – Part Three

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00November 29th, 2011|Disney Travel Tips|

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Agent Rebecca here again with part two of the top ten tips for taking a toddler to the Disney Parks. If you missed part one and part two, you can check it out here and here. We have a lot of information in this one, so let’s dive right in shall we?? 6. Utilize the Parent swap – Have you heard of the Parent Swap? You haven’t? Oh boy are you missing out! The parent swap is Disney’s brilliant way to make everything accessible for families and those traveling with the super little ones. After all 14 month old Livvia can’t go on Space Mountain. At the entrance to each ride’s que is a cast member (or employee if you prefer). So Mr. Smith and Johnny, who is seven and can’t wait to go on space mountain for the first time, go up to the cast member and ask for a parent swap pass for Mrs. Smith who has to stay with little Livvia. The cast member will give Mr. Smith a piece of colorful paper which he places in his pocket and gladly takes his place in line. They [...]

Our First Wish

By |2016-12-16T14:56:10-05:00September 26th, 2011|Disney Travel Tips|

We were contacted by David with a simple plea. He wanted to take his wife, Cindy, to Disneyland, but the circumstances as to why he wanted to take his wife to Disneyland were a little unusual. In 2005 David moved away from their hometown after new better opportunities, however the opportunities did not last. In  2007 David lost his job, and even though he was diligent in his search he was not able to find a job until early 2009, making only a fraction of what he was  making before. Unfortunately, their problems were far from over. Shortly after finding a new job Davids wife began suffering from several diabetes complications. Among these was loss of sight. One of their children and their grand-daughters were on their way to Disneyland shortly after the complete loss of sight in one eye was confirmed. Wishing Well Travel was able to send them to Disneyland along side their grand-daughters who they had not seen in almost a year. Everyone spent five days full of magic with their family, making bonds and memories that will last a life time. Shortly after David and Cindy's arrival back home her sight degenerated even more making this trip one that Cindy [...]
