One of the biggest decisions when making reservations for a trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort is where to stay.  Value, Moderate, or Deluxe?  Budget may decide for you, but if you have a little wiggle room in the budget how do you decide?  There are so many perks for each level of hotels how do you choose?

I highly recommend staying on Disney Property, the perks for staying on property are phenomenal.  The Extra Magic Hours benefit at the parks, FREE parking if you have your own vehicle, FREE transportation to and from the airport, and to the parks if you do not have your own vehicle. and extraordinary customer service are just a few of the many reasons!  When staying at one of onsite Disney resorts you have the option of purchasing a Magic Your Way® Package Plus Dining to save money on food.   All of the resorts have pools, many have waterslides and hot tubs.  Each resort also has pool games and activities, an arcade, laundry facilities and much, much more.

POP CenturyOne of the options on Disney property are the Value resorts.   Disney’s All Star Music, Disney’s All Star Movies, Disney’s All Star Sports, Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century all fall under the Value Category.  Starting at $90 dollars a night, these are great for families on a limited budget.  The Disney theming is very strong at all of these resorts.  Disney’s All Star resorts share busses.  Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation each have their own busses.   Family suites are available at Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s All Star Music offer suites as well that can sleep up to 6 people in a room.   I have stayed at Disney’s Pop Century and I love it!  At the value resorts all the doors open to the outside.  There are fantastic food courts at each resort, and a gift shop with almost everything you could need at each resort as well.   The rooms are slightly small but well maintained.
Riverside CollageAnother option would be the Moderate level resorts.  Starting at $170 per night, these are a little more expensive but still very affordable.  Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort , Disney’s Coronado Springs, and the Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins are all considered Moderate Level Resorts.  Strong geographical theming is present at these resorts, but less Disney character themes.  I have stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside – and found it stunningly beautiful!  All of these resorts also have a food court ; some have a themed sit down restaurant as well.  Gift shops can be found in the main buildings.   The moderate resort rooms also open to the outdoors, rooms are a little larger than the Value resorts.

AKL CollageDisney’s Deluxe resorts are the ultimate in comfort, luxury and theming.  With multiple restaurants from casual dining to signature experiences, tons of activities, and several gift shops at each resort there is always something to do at the Deluxe resorts.  Starting at $279 per night these resorts are the cream of the crop!  Deluxe resorts typically have larger rooms that open up into an indoor hallway.  Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Disney’s Beach Club are all considered Deluxe Resorts.  Concierge level rooms and suites are available at most of the Deluxe resorts for the ultimate luxury experience.  Boats, busses and for some of the resorts, the monorail, provide transportation to each of the different parks.  The prices within the Deluxe resorts vary greatly – with Animal Kingdom Lodge typically being the least expensive, and the Grand Floridian the most expensive.  I have stayed at Disney’s  Animal Kingdom Lodge and it was wonderful.

There is also the Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground if you wish to camp, or the Deluxe Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs, Disney’s Old Key West.  Each of the Deluxe hotels have villas as well.  Disney’s Saratoga Springs also has Tree Top Villas. The villas can sleep from 4 -12 people depending on which resort you choose.

Having stayed at a Value, a Moderate, and a Deluxe hotels, and visited most of the rest of them, I can honestly say I love them all!  Each resort has its own charm and fantastic service.  There is something for everyone at each resort, from Victoria and Albert’s (fine dining) at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, to YeeHaw Bob in the piano lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, culinary tours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and nightly outdoor movie screenings (seasonal).   Contact Wishing Well Travel today for a quote for anyone of these fantastic resorts!
