Since the opening of Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure® Park people have been begging for it to be replicated on the east coast. It seems they are about to get their wish, and even more. Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ is about to undergo some major changes.
Multiple sources are reporting that Disney will be reproducing Cars Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ in Florida. The rumored location is that it will be replacing the Lights, Motors, Action!® Extreme Stunt Show® and a portion of Catastrophe Canyon. While this will mean the end for both of those attractions, it will bring Lightning McQueen, Mater, and the rest of the popular crew to the east coast. Cars Land won’t be the largest or most exciting change, either.
Building off the popularity of the Star Tours® Attraction and Star Wars Weekends, Disney will be opening a Star Wars Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios™. There are no details yet as to what rides, shows or attractions will be available or what setting will be used, but I am sure it will be completely out of this world. It is also unknown what current attractions will be leaving in order to make way for Star Wars Land.
Both projects promise to revitalize Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ and give it a new focus. The current time frame proposed will have both projects completed by 2018, though this early the time frame could easily be adjusted. What is clear is that much like Disney’s California Adventure® Park , Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ is about to see an amazing make over that will bring even more excitement to Walt Disney World® Resort visitors for years to come!
