“Be Our Guest, Be Our Guest, Put our service to the test…”  Well this November I did just that for the new Be Our Guest restaurant in the Beast’s Castle.   I was extremely fortunate and was able to get a table on a night they were doing “dress rehearsals” for the new Fantasy Land.  I was just a little excited about the opportunity!

I was given a pager and was told it would be just a few minutes wait time.  In less than 5 minutes I was taken inside the restaurant.  The hostess seating me offered to take my picture in front of the gorgeous mural in the entry way.  As she led me to my table she encouraged me to walk around after I ate to take pictures and see the other eating areas.  From the walkway into the restaurant to the eating areas themselves, the attention to detail is stunning.

I was thrilled to be seated in the Grand Ballroom.  The room itself is stunning, an the attention to detail is carried through here as well.  The tables look like marble, the napkins are folded into roses, and of course the waiters and waitresses costumes are fantastic.  The room was a little dark, ok it was a lot dark.  I had a bit of a hard time seeing my food at first, and the wait staff have to carry flashlights to help some guests see the menu.  The windows at the far edge of the ball room portray a snowy evening, and even all the way across the room I could see the snow falling.

The service was excellent, and the food was as good as I expected it to be. Dinner at   Be our Guest is very similar quality wise to the Cinderella’s Royal Table, just without Characters.  My waitress was extremely helpful and able to answer any questions I had about the menu.  It seemed the staff was just as excited to be open as the guests were.

The Desserts are served tableside from a pretty covered cart, which makes it even harder to choose which one you want!  I ended up choosing the Lemon Meringue cupcake, which was excellent.

I was also given a chance to try “The Grey Stuff”  and Yes it IS delicious.  Very delicious in fact.  I can best describe it as a chocolate mousse, but better.

There are two other eating areas besides the Grand Ball Room.   The Rose Room, which features a music box made by Maurice for Belle, and several portraits of Belle’s life.  It appears this room will be used mainly for the Counter service meals, as there are Juice and Pop Machines on one end of the room.  It was not open for service when I was there.

On the other side of the Grand Ball Room sits the Forbidden West wing.  This room is even darker than the Ball Room, and features tattered draperies, torn and slashed paintings and the Rose.  The Rose drops a petal every so often.

Another interesting feature of this restaurant is the music.  The same music is being played in every room, but each room has its own theme.  In the Rose Room, the music sounds as if it is being played by a music box.  In the Ball Room it has a grand orchestral sound, and in the Forbidden West wing, a more ominous, symphonic sound is attached to the music.

Dinner at Be Our Guest definitely lived up to my expectations.   I can’t wait to try the Counter service side of the restaurant!  Be Our Guest officially opens December 6 with the grand opening of the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland.
