How do you start your summer off with a monstrously-good time?  By celebrating with Sulley and Mike Wazowski at the “Happiest Place on Earth” for 24 hours straight!   308348_10151661634999078_1846434297_n

Walt Disney World Resort® in Florida started off this summer with an exciting event dubbed “The Monstrous 24 Hour All-Nighter”.  Guests began the day at 6:00am on May 24, 2013, outside the gates of Magic Kingdom® Park, where they were welcomed by the traditional locomotive arrival of your favorite mouse & mine, Mickey Mouse!  In addition to seeing some of our favorite characters on the train platform, the special emcees for this welcome were none other than Sulley and Mike.  They waved to the crowd as the dancers and characters got the crowd excited for the full day (and night) of festivities ahead!  As the welcome show came to a close, crowds donning special one-eyed glasses and limited edition Sulley-inspired ear hats made their way onto Main Street, U.S.A.®!  Let the fun begin!!

If you love tasty treats with a monster-good theme, then this was the place to be!  From monster size cupcakes to cotton candy in the shades of our 2 favorite monster stars, there was something to satisfy every sweet tooth.  The one-eyed cake pops looked especially good, as they stared right back at us!

Characters were spotted all over the park and as the day turned into night, they began showing up in their pajamas.  I’m sure many of the guests wished that they had brought pajamas along as well!  Of course, the night wasn’t complete until you scored that special picture with the guests of honor, Mike & Sulley.  pjs

With night as the backdrop, it was only fitting for the big screen in Tomorrowland® to do a night-time showing of Monsters, Inc.  The crowd settled in around the screen as though it was a large outdoor movie theater!  And popcorn was only steps away!

imagesCA8W4H7VFor those that weren’t too worn out by the wee hours of 3:00am, a dance party was in full force in front of Cinderella’s Castle!  Complete with a monstrously cool DJ, who spun jams that were sure to get every human (and monster) dancing in the streets.  Of course, no party is complete without stilt walkers and out of this world creatures, like Stitch, dancing in the crowd!  Now, that’s a fabulous party! As with all good times, they must eventually come to an end.

As the clock approached 6:00am on May 25, 2013, guests made their way back to the train platform as our favorite classic characters, led by Mickey & Minnie, sang the farewell song from the classic Mickey Mouse Club.  “M-I-C…See ya real soon…K-E-Y…Why, because we like you…M-O-U-S-E!”

Guests, looking sleepy but happy, waved goodbye to our favorite friends, knowing that they would have monstrously sweet dreams of the past 24 hours full of fun!

The fun wasn’t just contained at the Walt Disney World Resort® in Florida.  Guests at the Disneyland  Resort® in California had their own All-Nighter Celebration too!  Bi-coastal summertime fun is one of the many things that Disney specializes in!  Wishing Well Travel will keep you posted when Disney® has more of these types events.   Contact me for a quote on these and other special events!
